Critical reception
Sudhish Kamath of The Hindu stated, "Rangrezz is a fine example of how NOT to remake a film".[5] "Madhureeta Mukherjee of Times of India has given the movie 2.5 stars out of 5 stating that "There are ample well-shot scenes ( Santosh Sivan), good performances (strong supporting cast) and sweet moments; ... The second half goes awry, the story loses steam and characters lose colour.[6] Taran adarsh of Bollywood hangama has given 2 stars out of 5.[7] Ankur Pathak from Rediff.com has given 3/5 stars and says Rangrezz works despite being saddled with a rather cliched plot.[8]Soundtrack
